Artistic Director, Gregory Scime founded the Assisi Performing Arts in the summer of 2001 with the intention of producing world-class vocal and chamber music performances. Twenty years later, professional musicians, students, and adult participants continue to perform a rigorous schedule of approximately 20 concerts at various venues in Assisi within a 2-week period.  The vocal program is unique with its focus on sacred music, although singers have opportunities to perform all genres with choral music and solo performances. The Instrumental program strives to provide individualized opportunities to perform chamber music, solos, and orchestral music with the goal of meeting the needs of each participant. The festival orchestra performs both on its own and in combination with the festival choir for a final mass performance at the Basilica and Cathedral.
